Affiliation Structure
Two categories of IRINN affiliate for eligible individuals and organisations in India.
IRINN has two affiliation categories. Eligibility depends on the applicant being established in India under applicable Indian law, meeting the relevant category requirements, and satisfying IRINN's resource criteria.
Affiliates
Individuals, companies, other incorporated bodies and academic institutions established in India under Indian law may become direct affiliates, provided they do not distribute address space in the manner of a Local Internet Registry (LIR).
LIR (ISP) Affiliates
A Local Internet Registry (LIR) primarily assigns address space to users of its network services. LIR affiliates are generally internet service providers licensed by the Department of Telecommunications, Government of India, and data centre operators serving end users or other ISPs.
Affiliation fees
A new affiliate is charged a resource application fee of ₹27,500 plus applicable taxes. This application fee is charged to all new affiliates, irrespective of whether the applicant takes up the IP resources immediately or later than the period of application.
Affiliation tiers
Your affiliation tier is based on the amount of address space held. IRINN reviews affiliation tiers each year upon renewal and adjusts them if the total address space allocation varies from the address limit for the current tier.
You may choose to join a higher affiliation tier, but you may not select a lower tier than the one determined by your address resource holdings.
