IP address space is a shared public resource, allocated based on demonstrated need and in accordance with applicable IRINN policies. While we welcome your application, please note that submission of an application does not guarantee the allocation or delegation of resources.
IPv4
Criteria for an initial LIR delegation
Organisations seeking their first IPv4 allocation must meet the minimum criteria. The organisation must:
- Have used a /24 from their upstream provider, or be able to demonstrate an immediate need for a /24
- Have complied with applicable policies in managing all address space previously allocated to it
- Be able to demonstrate a detailed plan to use a /23 within a year
- Receive a minimum delegation of a /24, up to a maximum of a /23 from the applicable address pool
Criteria for small multihoming delegations
An organisation is eligible if it is currently multihomed with provider-based addresses, or demonstrates a plan to multihome within one month.
Organisations requesting a delegation under these terms must demonstrate that they are able to use 25% of the requested addresses immediately and 50% within one year.
IPv6
IRINN affiliates that hold IPv4 but no IPv6 automatically qualify for an appropriately sized block of IPv6 addresses.

Autonomous System Number
IRINN deems an organisation eligible for an ASN assignment if it operates at multiple locations and has a clearly defined routing policy that differs from the routing policies of its service providers. The organisation:
- Should be multihomed, or will be soon
- Has a single, clearly defined routing policy that is different from its upstream providers' routing policies
- Will use the AS number within three months of allocation
An organisation is also considered eligible if it can demonstrate that it will meet these criteria upon receiving an AS number.
