Accessibility statement

This website is built to be usable by everyone, including people using assistive technology.

IRINN is committed to ensuring that this website is accessible to all users, in line with the Guidelines for Indian Government Websites (GIGW) 3.0 and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA.

Measures taken

  • Semantic HTML with correctly ordered headings, landmark regions and a skip-to-content link on every page
  • All functionality is operable by keyboard alone, with a clearly visible focus indicator
  • Text and interface colours meet or exceed the 4.5:1 contrast ratio required at Level AA
  • A high-contrast mode and text sizing controls (A-, A, A+) in the header, remembered between visits
  • Text can be resized to 200% in the browser without loss of content or functionality
  • Auto-rotating content can be paused, and animation is suppressed for visitors who prefer reduced motion
  • Images carry meaningful alternative text; decorative images are hidden from assistive technology
  • Form fields have programmatically associated labels, and errors are announced to screen readers
  • Links that open in a new tab or lead to a document are identified as such
  • Interactive targets are at least 44×44 pixels

Known limitations

Some documents published before this website was rebuilt are available only as PDFs that may not be fully tagged for screen readers. If you need an accessible alternative, contact us and we will work with you to provide one.

Whois query results are generated by a separate service and may not meet the same standard as the rest of this website.

Feedback

If you encounter an accessibility barrier, please let us know so that we can investigate and address it. Include the page address and a description of the problem.

We aim to respond to accessibility feedback within five working days.
